August 14

A passage in Nehemiah tells the wonderful story of Ezra, a priest, who read the Book of the Law to the Israelites. After reflecting on God’s phenomenal greatness, and confessing, they wept. Then they were instructed to have a good time and share their good food. Nancy Adler, a McGill business professor and artist encourages business leaders to reflect on beauty and art and not just the bottom line. There are some parallels here, although perhaps the business model could include sharing and confessing.
